Comparison of Angles and the Corresponding Moments in Knee and Hip during Restricted and Unrestricted Squats

چکیده
The aim of this study is the comparison of angles and the corresponding moments in knee and hip during squatting. The five subjects performed restricted and unrestricted squats. The experimental set-up consisted of a motion capture system and two force plates. The loading conditions were 0, 1⁄4 and 1⁄2 BW. The moments and the force were calculated using inverse dynamics. Overall, the maximal moments were observed in the knee during unrestricted squats and in the hip during restricted squats. Comparing the moments at a knee angle of 60o, the loading conditions have a larger influence than the type of execution. The moment in the knee is 10.4%, respectively 11.2% lower with 1⁄4 and 1⁄2 body weight during restricted squats. In the hip, the moment is 15.5 %, respectively 14 % higher for the same conditions. The angle of the hip remains rather constant. This most likely implies a higher load to the lower back. Hence, the exercise instruction should be adapted to the aims and the training condition of the athlete.

Effect of Soccer Specific Functional Fatigue On hip and knee Joints Kinematics In professional players during Landing
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of soccer specific functional fatigue on hip and knee joints angles during landing in professional players.15 soccer players with at least 2 years experience in Kerman soccer clubs were selected randomly. To evaluate the lower extremity kinematics following jumping and soccer specific- heading, three cameras (with50Hz) were used. To cau...
متن کاملEffect of knee position on hip and knee torques during the barbell squat.
UNLABELLED Some recommendations suggest keeping the shank as vertical as possible during the barbell squat, thus keeping the knees from moving past the toes. This study examined joint kinetics occurring when forward displacement of the knees is restricted vs. when such movement is not restricted. Seven weight-trained men (mean +/- SD; age = 27.9 +/- 5.2 years) were videotaped while performing 2...
متن کاملKinematics of Hip, Knee and Ankle During Cross- Slope Walking
Purpose: Little information is available on joint kinematic adaptations during walking on cross-slope surfaces (i.e. a surface incline perpendicular to the direction of locomotion). This study aimed to evaluate the effects of cross-slope surfaces on three-dimensional (3D) kinematics of hip, knee, and ankle joints during stance phase of walking. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study...
متن کاملComparison of frontal plane trunk kinematics and hip and knee moments during anticipated and unanticipated walking and side step cutting tasks.
BACKGROUND Frontal plane trunk and lower extremity adjustments during unanticipated tasks are hypothesized to influence hip and knee neuromuscular control, and therefore, contribute to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury risk. The aims of this study were to examine frontal plane trunk/hip kinematics and hip and knee moments (measures of neuromuscular control) during unanticipated straight a...
متن کاملKinematics of the Trunk and the Spine during Unrestricted and Restricted Squats – a Preliminary Analysis
The aim of the study was the assessment and comparison of trunk kinematics during restricted (knee not beyond toes) and unrestricted squats. Eight repetitions of restricted and unrestricted squats with 0, 25% and 50% bodyweight loading using a barbell were assessed with a 12 camera motion analysis system. A trunk marker set was developed and applied that allowed the measurement of the 3D kinema...
